Maintenance of your sports glasses, safety glasses or motorcycle glasses

We do not recommend using tissues or clothing to clean your glasses. These substances may contain small particles that cause scratches. It is especially important to clean your glasses properly after exercising, as sweat can cause faster wear in the long run.

Rinse your glasses with lukewarm water before cleaning them. You can use a little soap if necessary. Do not use acetone or alcohol, as these agents can damage the coatings on the glasses. Special sprays are also available for cleaning eyeglasses. In addition to the lenses, clean the frame with lukewarm water and a little soap.

In addition, be careful how you put your glasses down. Never lay them with the lenses down, as this can cause scratches.

It may be that your glasses are not quite comfortable at first. For example, because they are too tight or too high on your nose. Adjusting metal eyeglasses is often easy to do yourself. You do not need to heat the glasses with a hair dryer or similar. You can usually easily bend the springs (legs) slightly yourself. Hold the spring firmly by the frame with one hand and gently bend the leg into the desired position with your other hand.

With plastic glasses, you can heat the frame slightly, such as with a hair dryer, before carefully adjusting it.

If your glasses have adjustable nose pads, you can adjust the height of the glasses with these as well. By bending the nose pads slightly apart, the glasses will sit lower on the nose. Bending the nose pads slightly towards each other will raise the height of the glasses. Take one nose pad between your thumb and forefinger and gently bend it to the desired position. Then do the same with the other nose pad.
