Did you know that you can also claim your prescription sports, safety or motorcycle glasses from your employer or health insurance company? As long as the glasses are prescription and your policy provides reimbursement for glasses, you can submit them for reimbursement. Once you have received your glasses, we will send you an invoice for your new glasses via e-mail. You can then submit it to your health insurance company.

Employer reimbursement for safety glasses
Employers are required to reimburse for safety glasses when the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) shows that there are risks to the eyes that cannot be eliminated by other means. When an employee needs prescription safety glasses to perform work safely, the employer must reimburse them in full.
The reimbursement applies to the safety glasses themselves, including frames and safety lenses. Any extras necessary for safe working are also covered by the reimbursement. Luxury options or cosmetic add-ons are usually not reimbursed.
New safety glasses are generally provided when a necessary change in prescription is made or when the glasses are damaged or worn due to work. Many employers have an internal replacement policy for this, such as once every two years.
