Entering eye strength
Do I need to have my eye strength re-measured to make glasses?
For prescription glasses, you don’t necessarily need to visit an optician for an eye measurement. SpecialSpex glasses generally function as a second pair of glasses. For the strength of your second pair of glasses, it is therefore desirable that they do not deviate too much from your daily glasses and it is advisable to use the strength of your daily glasses for your sports glasses, safety glasses or prescription motorcycle glasses. If you have a copy of the prescription for your existing glasses, we will use that for making your glasses.
How can I enter my glasses prescription or eyewear?
When putting together your ideal sports glasses, safety glasses, computer glasses or prescription motorcycle glasses, we will ask you to enter your eye strength or glasses prescription. There are a number of ways to enter your eye strength:
– You send a copy of your last eyeglass prescription
– You enter your own prescription when ordering the glasses
– You put us to work getting your eye strength; we contact your optician to get the correct data.
– Of course, you can also make an appointment with us in the store to have an eye measurement done.
How do I get a measurement of my pupil distance?
A glasses prescription is complete with a pupil distance, but sometimes it’s missing or you can’t find it. Don’t worry: After you order your glasses, we’ll send you a login to our online pupil distance meter. super easy with no measuring stick or credit card.
In your account page you can see exactly what the status of your glasses is and if we have everything complete. We also keep here your strength and previously ordered data so you can super easily order additional glasses.
