Even outside, it is essential to protect your eyes from UV radiation.
Good safety glasses provide optimal protection in all conditions. Choose from a wide range of Bollé or Eyres safety glasses, all fully prescription. Want to see well even up close? Then choose progressive safety glasses. With safety glasses with a reading section, you’ll also see details up close and sharp.
Frames
All of our frames offer optimal eye protection through a close fit to your face. This prevents small particles or liquids from getting into your eyes. Choose from classic metal frames with side caps or plastic curved frames that fit snugly around your head. Many safety glasses come with a comfortable rubber mounting strap or adjustable legs so they sit securely and comfortably on your head. Special anti-fog lenses ensure that your glasses do not fog up and you always have good vision.
Safety glasses look like regular glasses, but with extra protection on the sides. You can choose from Bollé, Eyres or Riley safety glasses. The lenses are made of special safety material: polycarbonate or Trivex.
Trivex optically offers a very sharp image, is lightweight, provides 100% UV protection and optimal impact protection. Trivex is more resistant to chemicals than polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate was originally developed for space travel, used in astronaut helmets and space shuttle windows. It is feather light, resistant to impact and provides 100% UV protection. For use with chemicals, we recommend Trivex.
Are prescription safety glasses EN-166 certified?
All our prescription safety glasses meet the strictest safety requirements and are certified to the EN-166 standard. They comply with:
- Optical quality: 100% control of brightness and vision
- Color rendering and UV protection
- Mechanical impact: protection against projectiles, particles and liquids
Only eyewear that meets EN-166 certification provides maximum protection against mechanical hazards such as dust, splinters or flying particles. For specific conditions such as chemical hazards or radiation risks, please contact our specialists.
The frames are designed so that you hardly notice you are wearing them all day. So you maintain perfect vision and maximum protection for your eyes.rfect vision for your tasks and maximum protection for your eyes.
Why prescription safety glasses?
Some working conditions require extra protection for your eyes. Ordinary spectacles do not offer this protection: the lenses are often not impact-resistant and there is space between the frame and the face. With specially curved frames or frames with side shields, we guarantee that the glasses fit your face optimally, so that no dust, sand or liquids can reach your eyes. The lenses are scratch-resistant and offer UV protection, so you work safely even in the sun.

Will my safety glasses be reimbursed by my employers?
Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, employers must provide employees with personal protective equipment free of charge. This includes customized equipment, such as prescription safety glasses.
First, a Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) is conducted to determine what hazards may occur while working. If prescription safety glasses are necessary, they will be fully reimbursed, provided the glasses meet EN-166 certification. At SpecialSpex, we provide certified glasses and, if required, will arrange the financial settlement with your employer. Ask your employer to contact us, and we will set the process in motion.
How much do prescription safety glasses cost?
The price depends on the frame and lenses:
- Flat lenses in metal frames are usually cheaper.
- Curved frames require custom-made lenses, which affects the price.
- Additional options such as tints or self-tinting lenses may increase the price.
Single safety glasses with flat lenses start from €149, glasses with curved lenses from €199. Multifocal glasses cost an additional €100.
